Product Description

Number of Pages: 63

This is a reproduction, not a photocopy, of an original Lodge & Shipley Model X Metal Lathe Operations and Parts Manual. This manual covers the 14″, 16″, 20″, and 25″ lathe models. This Lodge Shipley manual gives an overview of all the different handles and controls. It covers proper lubricating instructions with photos of the lubrication points and a lubrication chart.
The manual contains information about the headstock spindle and bearings, and gives instructions on how to adjust them for accuracy. It also covers how to adjust the headstock clutches and brakes for these lathes, and it covers the set up and use of the taper attachment. The instructions for setting up for threading, and the threading charts are included as well. This manual also contains a set of pictorial view of the parts with descriptions for these model X Lodge & Shipley metal lathes.

I have collected this information for many years and have found the information they contain to be priceless in using and setting up the machines properly. I believe this manual will be a valuable resource of knowledge that will provide a lot of helpful information that is often hard to find. My manuals are not photocopies. I maintain a high standard of quality in my reproductions. Most of the manuals I reproduce look better than their originals. I have professionally digitally edited every page, and removed stains, wrinkles and handwriting. All of the manuals are printed on thick white paper to withstand shop wear and tear.

We do more than sell manuals.

We are a father and son team that operate a 5,000 sq/ft metal machine and wood shop. We've had to design our own machines (including CNC), and fixtures for our wood working. We make some of the smallest most precise inlay in the world. We maintain tolerances of 0.0005" in a 12" strip of wood, and we have duck calls with over 1,100 pieces of wood in them.

We've collected various machines and accumulated lots of manuals over the years, and we like to help keep these old machines running. Some of the manuals on this site are from machines in our shop like the Rockwell 10" unisaw, Rockwell uniplane, Walker Turner 1100 16" band saw, etc..
